As a Masters student of Animation at Savannah College of Art and Design, I took a Collaboration class in which twelve students had ten weeks to create one animated film.
Our film is about a run-down office fox, Sam, who is stuck in a mundane, vegan society. Becoming exhausted by the sheer dreariness of his life, he falls asleep in a meeting. It is then he lives out his inner-most carnivorous desires.
Below are the ways in which I contributed to the film!
ANIMATION
My animated portion of the dream sequence was done in 2.5D. I hand-drew each animated element, built a three-dimensional environment in AfterEffects, and then composited all of those flat layers into the 3D space.
The pattern constructing the environment is made up of symbology that captures the fox’s growing hunger for chicken.
CREDITS
My idea was to show Sam fulfilling his life-long desire while simultaneously creating the most awkward office lunch of all time.
In order to fill the conference room, I had the opportunity to design three new characters: Sherry the Sheep, Pablo the Pig, and Richard the Rabbit.

TITLES
I wanted the titles to tell the story of our film simply in the design of typography, having the word start out in conformed letters and then gradually expand into chaos just as Sam starts out as a fox conforming to his vegan society but is then overcome by his primal instincts.

We decided my sketches felt a little too much like titles for a horror film.

In my next iteration, I kept the same conceptual idea and pushed the treatment of the typography to be more in tandem with our psychedelic dream sequence.
